After graduating from Mountview Theatre School, where he trained as an actor, Graham appeared as a principal performer in West End, national touring and regional theatre, as well as roles in film and television before crossing the footlights to work extensively as a director (both in the UK and internationally) on such productions as Les Miserables, Oliver!, Wicked!, Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, Avenue Q, Lend Me a Tenor, Street of Dreams, We Could Be Heroes, Pippin, Children of Eden, Hard Times, Honk, Beauty and The Beast, Overspill, Smelling a Rat, Bullets over Broadway, Hope, Betty Blue Eyes and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
He appeared in the 10th and 25th Anniversary concerts of Les Miserables at the Albert Hall and the O2 Arena.
In 2002 Graham was nominated for a Robert Helpman Award for ‘Best Director’ for his production of Oliver! in Australia and Singapore, whilst also Associate Creative Director of the highly acclaimed Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games, Manchester, in the same year. Graham was the Script Manager of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Games London 2012 and in 2014 returned from Russia in the same role on the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Sochi. On his return, he directed the 150th birthday celebration historical story for John Lewis at the LG arena, Birmingham, as well as writing and directing their 2014 Christmas products launch in London. Graham was appointed Associate Artistic Director of the Opening Ceremony of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. He has been a regular member of the Creative Team responsible for staging the UAE National Day Celebrations each year since 2017.
He continues to direct productions, master-classes and workshops at the major UK vocational schools including GSA, RWCMD, Central, Arts Ed, Mountview, Tring Park, Trinity, LSMT and UCLAN. Graham is currently developing a new musical as well as a screenplay and TV comedy drama.
